“In order to stay healthy, you need to live in harmony with yourself,” explains Henri Chenot, who was born in Catalonia and, after being adopted, became a French citizen. Henri Chenot, now 76 years old, developed his Chenot Method® over the course of almost 50 years of research and personal professional experience. It combines tenets of traditional Chinese medicine with the latest scientific advances in Western classical tailored to each individual guest regenerate body and mind through detoxification and activation of the energy channels.
The Health Wellness Retreat’s services are designed to support and build upon each other. The hotel offers three different one-week programmes, which can be expanded upon request: Advanced Detox, Recover & Energise and Prevention & Ageing Well. The first of these is the most essential one, forming the basis for the other two. The first programme focuses on deep purification and detoxification in order to rid the body of harmful metabolites and toxins, heal damaged tissue and restore hormonal balance. The second programme is designed to reduce stress, promote healthy sleep and recharge the body’s energy stores. The Chenot Method® is complemented by a clinically tested, patented method using neuroscientific technology. The third programme strengthens the body and enhances physical resilience for those leading demanding lives. It centres around a proactive concept in which treatments administer health-enhancing stimuli to the body in order to bolster its self-healing capacity, strengthen tissue structure and give the organ system a boost.
The Chenot diet plan is another cornerstone of the Chenot Method® and was conceived by Henri Chenot’s wife Dominique. Head chef Giulio Ciccotelli and his team base their dishes on scientific data detailing how best to select, prepare and combine the respective ingredients. Based on a low-calorie diet that is nevertheless well-balanced and just as rich in taste and aroma, two different menu categories are designed specifically for each individual guest: the vegan Detox menu and the Biolight menu, which also contains ingredients based on animal products. Breakfast, lunch and supper are served at the hotel’s restaurant. In the Tea Lounge, guest can choose from among various herbal infusions and different mixtures of organic green tea.
